Master Birthday Run List

Many people have asked me to make a master list of all the food you can get on your birthday, and I've finally gotten around to doing it. This list is particular to Gainesville, Florida, but many of the restaurants I'm about to list still give you free food. Make sure to take your ID with you! Some of the restaurants require you to input your email, but fear not. You can use a masked email that will forward to your actual email, and all it takes to stop receiving emails from the sender is a click of a button: https://www.abine.com/maskme/.

In no particular order, here is the master birthday run:

1. Chik fil A: You can get any meal free with your ID and upgrade the drink to a milkshake. (Note: this does not work on campus or at the mall). You can use this from the week before your birthday until the week after your birthday.

2. Moe's Burritos: If you download their Moe's Rockin' Rewards app, you can get any entree free (some require purchase of a drink). (Note:this does not work on campus). If you create different accounts, you can use the coupon at all three locations in Gainesville. You can use this up to a week after your birthday, so don't stress if you don't have enough time to do the entire run.



3. Firehouse Subs: You can get any type of sub you want, though it is only a small sub and you must show ID. You can use this at both Firehouses (which I highly recommend).

4. Starbucks: For this you must register a Starbucks gift card, but it is well worth it. Just put $5 on the card, which is the minimum, and you will get a free drink a few weeks after sign up and a free drink on your birthday. This is any drink. If you want to get 20-shot-venti-soy-caramel-chocolate-nutmeg-frappucino  with whip cream and  chocolate chips you damn well can, and it's free. However, you must sign up at least 30 days before your birthday.


5. Which Which: You get a free sandwich on your birthday with sign up, but you can sign up in store. If you sign up online, they send you the coupon about a week before, which you can use before your birthday.














6. Larry's Giant Subs: You get a free small sandwich on your birthday (Note: The location on Main st. does not honor this and the location on University requires you to purchase a drink)















7. Planet Smoothie: Just walk in and show your ID to get a free smoothie. There are many locations in Gainesville, so, if you really like smoothies you can go to all of them.

8. Krispy Kreme: You get a free donut and small coffee with email sign up. They happened to be running a deal where you get a free half dozen donuts if you download their app. It's worth checking to see if they're still running that deal on your birthday.

9. The Hyppo: Get a free Popsicle on your birthday. If you haven't tried this yet, now is your chance. There are three locations.










10. Red Robbin: You get a free burger on your birthday with email sign up (located in the mall). You can use this deal all month.

11. Ruby Tuesday: Free burger with email sign up (also in the mall). You can use this deal all month.

12. Gigi's Cupcakes: Free cupcake on your birthday with email sign up. You can also use this all month. Luckily for you, it is right next door to Which Which and Starbucks!

13. Steak and Shake: Free meal including burger, fries, and drink with email sign up (you do not have to use this on your birthday)

14. Ballyhoo's: Free lobster tail on your birthday with email sign up

15. Pretty much any hibachi place including Benihana and Kobe's will give you a free meal with another paying person

16. Tropical Smooth: Free smoothie on your birthday with ID and email sign up.

17. Auntie Anne's: Free pretzel with email signup and on your birthday (score!)

18. Dunkin' Donuts: Free coffee with email sign up (Does not have to be used on your birthday).

19. Baskin Robbins: Free scoop of ice cream with email sign up

20. Checkers: Free small milkshake with email sign up

21. Cinnabon: Free cinnamon roll with email sign up

22. IHOP: Free pancakes with email sign up

23. Waffle House: Free waffle with email sign up

24. Zaxby's: Free meal deal with email sign up

25. Most chain restaurants (e.g. TGIF, Olive Garden, etc.) offer free appetizers and desserts on your birthday.

26. Sephora: This is not a food item, but I thought I would include it anyways. Free gift from Sephora with email sign up (I got facial stuff last time).

For those old enough to drink, many bars in Gainesville offer free drinks and cover, in particular:

1. Rockeys Dueling Piano Bar offers free cover and a shot on your birthday. If you make a reservation for 8 pm on your birthday, you and everyone in your group gets free cover and free drinks.

2. Gumby's offers a free shot on your birthday

3. 101 Cantina offers a free fish bowl or margarita (depending) and will send a limo for you if you have a group of eight or more as well as a free birthday dinner.

These are just the places I know of and does not include restaurants not in Gainesville. If you have anything to add to this list, please let me know!

Midnight Fire

Midnight Fire is one of the worst books I have ever read. It's a bad knock off of twilight without Stephanie Meyer's literary talent. Basically, take Bella and trade her for a red-headed vampire hunter that can shoot the sun out of her hands. The story itself has lots of promise, but the author can't seem to separate her writing style from that of Stephanie Meyer. I would recommend that no one ever read this book. It's not worth your time.

Circle of Sorcerers

The book I read, called Circle of Sorcerers, is the first in a series. The book features a boy who lives in a world where everyone has a little bit of magic inside of them. He just happens to have more than most. He leaves his home to go train with the Sorceress, Ismarelda. He soon learns that he is a very powerful sorcerer. He must use his skills to escape when the Heraldan church, who believe sorcerers are evil, set the building on fire during a meeting of the circle of sorcerers.

Through the Veil

This week I finished the last book so far in the Grey Wolves series called Through the Veil. A massive war is brewing between the wolves and the last witch on earth, Desmonda. Desmonda is gathering allies, but so are the wolves. The wolves try to enlist the help of the extremely powerful Fey, but the Fey are only concerned with the things on their side of the veil. Luna, the goddess of wolves, has a different plan for the Fey. She makes it so the Fey have no choice but to join in the battle. Things seem to be looking up until Desmonda lures the males wolves of the pack into the In-Between, a hellish place that makes you relive your worst nightmares. It's up to Jaque and the other females in the pack to save their men.

That is where the book leaves off. I wanted to throw something. No other book in the series left off on a cliff hanger. This book leaves you dumb-struck and angry.The next book doesn't come out until January which, if you've read the series, seems like an eternity.

Blood Rites

Book two in the Grey Wolves Series is just as good as Prince of Wolves. Jacque and Fane are finally going to be bonded...right? The unthinkable happens when Jacque, Lilly, Jen, and Sally get into a serious accident  one the way to the bonding ceremony. Jacque and Jen are in serious condition. Was this an accident or was it planned?- that is what Fane intends to find out.

The Prince of Wolves

The book I read this week was recommended to me by a friend. It is about a werewolf from Romania, Fane who is a foreign exchange student in a small town where he meets his life mate, Jacque. Jacque knows nothing of werewolves so she is obviously freaked out when she starts hearing Fane's voice in her head, one of the perks of having a life mate. Jacque learns that she is half werewolf although she cannot phase. The wolf in Fane knows that Jacque is the woman who he should spend the rest of his life with.  Fane is like a love sick puppy. He is the most devoted and loving boyfriend one could ever hope for (not to mention he's hot), so it's the perfect teen romance.Trouble comes along when another wolf claims that Jacque is his mate. Fane and this other wolf must battle to the death in order to win Jacque's hand.

Falcon Prince

This week a read a book about a handsome and well built man who mysteriously appears in a small town. By mysterious I mean landing as a hawk, fog descends, and turning into a naked man. Ria, seeing is shocked at seeing a naked man in front of her. When he tells her he has come to take her back to his planet, she quickly pepper sprays him, runs like the devil is chasing her, and calls the cops.
